Introduction
INTRODUCTION
I purchased my first light and sound unit in 1985. Five years later, light and sound became my profession. It has been an incredible journey. You are about to learn what I have seen.
Having graduated from college as a cultural anthropologist, my main interest has always been one of participant-observation. Getting involved, then stepping back and watching what happens. This is how I approached light and sound, why I have volunteered hundreds of hours and donated dozens of instruments. I have sponsored programs that have benefited teachers and students, doctors and patients, businesses and athletes. Everyday people.
Mind States is a little book that is in it’s second update (November, 2012) since the original publication in 1997. It will show you how to use a light and sound instrument. Very simple and very basic. It will tell you all you need to get started and where to go to learn more.
I am a light and sound dealer who works with professionals that did not use light and sound instrumentation until we met. It has been very enjoyable introducing professionals to a new technology. Watching skepticism turn into excitement. Seeing new applications net positive
results. What we have observed has sometimes been completely different to what many of the leaders in this field have led us to believe will occur. It is not my intention to upset anyone, certainly not the leaders behind light and sound technology, but facts are facts. You, the user of light and sound equipment, deserve to know these facts.
Why these differences have occurred is very simple. No two people think exactly alike. The mental, emotional and physical sensations that one individual experiences from a light and sound session will be similar, but not the same as the next individual. After all, how can we expect the response to light and sound from an individual who is terminally ill to be the same as, for example, those experienced by an emotionally upset police officer?
In the first section you will learn what a light and sound (and sound only) instrument is. You will also learn the general characteristics of each brainwave state and how, by utilizing light and sound frequency stimulation, these different brainwave states can be accessed. Also, you will gain an understanding of how frequencies and brainwaves are associated and whether or not this technology is safe for you to use.
I began sponsoring learning/relaxation programs in 1991. Working with professionals in the medical, educational, business and law enforcement communities, we utilized light and sound frequencies in an effort to determine their impact upon targeted brainwave states. How did we use light and sound? Were the sessions we used effective? Did these sessions elicit positive results? In the second section, I will share the answers with you. How professionals use light and sound stimulation to access beta, alpha, theta and delta brainwave states can be your guide as you begin your journey towards consciousness exploration and personal relaxation.
