Mind States by Michael Landgraf

It is apparent that the primary purpose of using light and sound or sound only before and / or during medical treatment is for helping the client to relax and focus on the treatment (or in the case of dental work, helping the client to think of anything but the treatment).

Alpha and sometimes theta, are the frequencies utilized most. The 515 CD and MP3, in regards to the programs we are involved with, is the brainwave frequency generator of choice. The reasons being: it is far easier to set up and run compared to light and sound, it is less expensive than light and sound, and it can be safely used by anyone. In essence, it saves time, money and alleviates the possibility of someone experiencing any adverse effects.

Now that you have read examples of and understand a little more about how this technology benefits a client from the time they first walk through the office door to the time they have finished their treatment, let’s find out how light and sound and also sound only can be of benefit to the client when their appointment is over.

When a client is handed a light and sound unit by their therapist for use at home, the problem was the variety of built-in sessions contained in the units. Say you have a unit with twenty built-in sessions. How many actually pertain to the reasons for letting a client use it and how many sessions do not? Do you think telling a client not to use sessions one through three, for example, will keep them from listening to those sessions first? Faith alone just doesn’t make it.
