Lightframes & Headphones: What To Look For continued
With the ACVS being available for almost two years, light and sound manufacturers are well aware of it’s popularity. And with the exception of only one manufacturer that I have spoken with, all have said they are coming out with their own RGB-based multicolored lightframes. Now that one of their biggest profit-makers, that being the sale of lightframes offering just one or two colors each, has been impacted, of course they are!
The ALLcolor Visual System™ is expensive. It is expensive to make. As a result, many light and sound users find it is not in their budget to purchase. So I did what any customer-oriented light and sound dealer would do: I made a smaller version. The reason for creating the ACVS was to have just one lightframe produce a myriad of colors. The reason for creating a smaller version was to offer the general light and sound-using public a quality, yet cost-effective alternative to the high cost of purchasing single and dual colored lightframes. Check out the suggested retail prices for single color LED lightframes. You can pay up to $99 each for the joy of owning white or blue or ’extra-powerful’ green LED lightframes. Indigo lightframes cost almost as much. To have red, green, yellow, even orange colored LED lightframes, expect to pay around $30 each. What about gold, pink, aqua or violet? Sorry, but LED bulbs are not yet available in those colors. To enjoy several colors, to add variety to your light and sound sessions, could easily end up costing you more than you paid for your light and sound machine.
In December, 2004, I was contacted by George Szeless, President of MindGear, Inc., which for years has been a major light and sound manufacturer. George wanted to produce my smaller version with production runs many times larger than I was capable of. Such quantity had a tremendous affect on the cost. The savings would benefit the buyer. This scenario was what I had hoped for. We call this smaller version the TENcolor™ lightframes.
