Lightframes & Headphones: What To Look For

The two questions I have been asked the most since I began selling light and sound machines are: which unit should I buy and what color lightframes should I get?

In 1997, I wrote the original “Mind States” as an answer to the first question. Even gave it away free to all who purchased their light and sound systems from me. Considering this technology affects the mind, and most newcomers to light and sound know very little about how, I wanted to help those who contacted me learn as much about this technology as possible. Why? So they would gain a basic understanding about light and sound technology, feel confident when using their light and sound mind machine and also to help them maximize their light and sound session experiences. The alternative, having to accept the recommendation of a light and sound dealer via a telephone conversation or email, who may or may not be aware of a potential user’s specific needs, was unacceptable. The more you personally know about this technology, the better the choice you will make when choosing a system that will best meet your own personal needs.

Mind States by Michael Landgraf

When an individual asks me what color lightframe should they purchase, in all honesty, how do I know? How would anyone? Seriously!

Everybody has a favorite color, like wearing khaki pants or a green shirt, perhaps the walls of your home are Navajo white, maybe even a mixture. Then there is that subconscious element to consider, like if you were in an auto accident and you were driving a blue car. Would blue still be your favorite color or would it conjure up negative feelings stemming from that unfortunate event? Lots of variables enter into deciding what color you would be happiest with, variables a light and sound dealer has no way of knowing.

So here is what I say to those who ask me what color lightframe they should purchase: “Keep it simple and cost-effective” or for the more advanced systems: “Buy the Multi-colors”. I explain why I cannot recommend a color that would be best for them, because in order to be 100% confident in giving a recommendation, I would need to have them hooked up to an eeg / neurofeedback device and be observing their real-time brainwave response to the various colors I show them. When their brainwaves respond most favorably to one particular color, that’s the color I’d recommend.
