Pulsed Light Stimulation.

Light and sound instruments effect brainwave activity through the utilization of pulsating lights, pulsating audio tones and offset frequencies. These effects are achieved by using light-emitting eye frames and stereo headphones.

Light and sound manufacturers produce three types of light-emitting eye frames for generating the pulsating light stimulation. These types of eye frames are known as: LED (light-emitting diodes), RGB LEDchip and incandescent bulb, as discussed earlier in this chapter.

Mind States by Michael Landgraf

All three types of eye frames do basically the same thing: they blink. This on/off blinking is controlled by your light and sound instrument. How the lights in your eye frames blink is referred to as “phase”.

Phase or how the blinking lights are combined can take several forms. The four most common are: standard in phase, standard out phase, independent light stimulation (ILS) in phase and independent light stimulation out phase.

Standard in phase light stimulation occurs when both the left and right lights are blinking at the same time. In phase means being in “synch”. When this synchronization is being experienced, your ability to produce the desired brainwave is increased.
