What Type Of System Do You Need?
I use only one meditation machine: the DAVID DELIGHT PRO It is an experience in meditation that should be offered in every professional yoga studio, resort and retreat. The blend of traditional yoga meditative practices with three dimensional pRoshi light stimulation creates a deep awareness of how so many thoughts and sensations can seem to float through the mind with such focused clarity while simultaneously having no awareness at all about the existence of time. Very refreshing. The aftereffects are excellent – like the neuronal pathways of the brain have been cleansed of pot holes, construction zones and detours. When meditating, the pRoshi resembles an artificial mantra. No need to repeat or focus on a mantra while meditating. The artificial mantra is silently communicating with the mind. The pRoshi is an incredible example of how successful incorporating mind machine neurotechnology with traditional yoga practices can improve the progress of new and intermediate yoga students, while assisting experienced yoga practitioners develop creative clarity for reaching ‘their pinnacle’. Those of us using three dimensional light stimulation to enhance our traditional meditative sessions refer to this meditative approach as Western Meditation.
As you are undoubtedly aware, hopefully not to the point of confusion, there are a variety of light and sound mind machines available in all price ranges. Some are for specific needs, some for specific purposes. Others have features similar to more expensive systems, but on a smaller scale (like containing less memory or parameter options). It all depends on what you want light and sound sessions for and how much you are willing to spend.
I do not believe there are that many quality sound-only instruments available. By quality I mean possessing the ability to keep the mind entrained for lengthy periods of time. Around fifteen years ago there were several manufacturers producing a variety of sound-only machines, with various cutting-edge methods for generating canned sound effects. But did these sound generators actually achieve what those who manufactured them said would be achieved? Were the user’s experiences consistent with the manufacturer’s claims?
I didn’t think so. Unless I have the opportunity to personally experience a specific session and can judge the effects on a personal level, or if I can observe the real-time brainwave measurements via an eeg / neurofeedback monitor of a session’s ability to entrain a brain into producing the targeted frequency at higher rates (than when not listening to that session) , then whatever the manufacturer proclaims is personally taken with ‘a grain of salt’.
